Water and nature risk is the next frontier of financial system repricing. I help the institutions that move money at scale get ahead of it.

About
I started not in finance but on the front line - inside businesses and on farms, where I saw first-hand the assumption that sits at the heart of almost every business model and every financial decision: that water will always be available, when you need it, in the quality you require. That assumption is wrong. Exposing it, and building the systems that act on that reality, has been the work of 20 years.
At CDP I built the world's largest corporate water disclosure programme, growing it to influence $124 trillion in assets and teaching me that disclosure alone is never enough. You need the capital instruments, the regulatory architecture, and the institutional will to act. That understanding drove everything that followed: co-founding the Blue Bond Accelerator, co-chairing the Science Based Targets Network, building the first structured water action agenda within the UNFCCC process, and translating Earth system science into frameworks that 450 banks, insurers, and investors can actually use with UNEP FI.
I now work independently — bringing that experience directly to the financial institutions, sovereigns, DFIs, and multilateral bodies who need honest, expert counsel to navigate what comes next.

Track Record
Built CDP's global water security programme into the world's largest corporate water disclosure platform — influencing $124 trillion in assets and growing participation from 145 to over 4,500 organisations.
Co-founded the Blue Bond Accelerator, building an $8bn pipeline of sovereign and sub-sovereign blue bond issuances within 18 months through strategy, stakeholder architecture, and investor engagement.
Co-chaired the governing council of the Science Based Targets Network — through its critical growth phase - providing strategic oversight, fundraising, and governance as the organisation established the first science-based taregt methodology for nature.
Built the largest non-state actor coalition on water and climate through the UNFCCC, as Water Lead for the COP26 High Level Climate Champions Team.
Thinking
I write and speak because the ideas matter more than the attention. What follows is a selection of my thinking about why capital hasn't moved fast enough on water — and what it would take to change that.
How the finance sector is greatly underestimating the scale of what's coming.
The first systematic analysis of water-related stranded assets across listed equities — making the case that water risk is already destroying financial value, not just threatening future returns.
Water does not need more sympathy. It needs credibility, capability, and confidence. A diagnosis of why governance — not capital — is the binding constraint.
A system transformation roadmap for how banks, insurers, investors, central banks, and regulators must act — and in what sequence — to align capital flows with water security.
A real-time account of water's gains at COP26 — and why each one matters for the financial system's long-term trajectory.
Reflections on Catalysing a Blue Finance Future from a roundtable of investors, issuers, and intermediaries who will determine whether blue bonds become the next chapter in sustainable finance — or stay a niche.
